Gurmat Sangeet Workshop: Bilawal Raaga

Learn from the experts of the field of Gurmat Sangeet under the guidance of founder and professor head of Gurmat Sangeet Chair (Punjabi University, Patiala, India), Dr. Gurnam Singh.

• Join The Journey to 31 Raaga, starting with Bilawal Raaga (August 2020)
• Learn various Tabla taals, and Dilruba as well 
• Four weeks workshop, every Saturday, 90 minutes/class

Shabad Kirtan - Bilawal Raag (Basic/Advance):

Be a part of The Journey to 31 Raaga which starts with Bilawal Raaga. Get introduced to Bilawal Raaga, Taal and various Sangeet Sadhnas (daily exercises). In these 90 minutes classes spanning over four weeks, you will get the opportunity to learn two Raaga based Shabad Kirtan compositions, notations, vocal exercises and the coursework.

Tabla (Basic/Advance):

Tabla is an important percussion instrument of Gurmat Sangeet as well as Indian music. Over the course of 4 weeks, you will learn various tabla taals, musical notations and Sadhnas from our esteemed experts. In this journey, you will be provided with multiple resources as well for your aid. By the end of the workshop, beginners will learn the basics and intermediate students will learn Ektaal and Teentaal to play along with Shabad Kirtan (Advance students will learn Tukde and FiIllers as well).

Dilruba (Basic/Advance):

Dilruba is one of the prominent and popular Tanti Saaz (String Instrument) of Gurmat Sangeet. By the end of the workshop, beginners will be in tune with Dilruba and if you have already initiated Dilruba learning in the past, you will learn Bilawal Raaga.
